The Latest Innok Case Study: INDUROS Automates Cross-Plant Logistics at provita medical
provita medical gmbh & co. kg is a well-established family-owned business with over 50 years of tradition and is one of the leading manufacturers in the medical technology sector. To meet the high customer expectations as an OEM partner and solutions provider—even within its own production processes—the company faced a typical logistical challenge: The flow of materials between different departments, and especially between two separate buildings, was inefficient. Previously, materials were laboriously transported using the company’s own truck and a dedicated employee. This tied up valuable personnel resources in monotonous transport tasks.
By deploying the INDUROS autonomous transport robot, provita medical is now closing this automation gap. The INDUROS handles the transport of goods between the building sections completely autonomously. In our new project video, we show the robot in real-world operation. The system navigates confidently through tight spaces while ensuring the highest level of personal safety. Outdoors, the INDUROS handles a wide variety of surfaces, intelligently avoids obstacles, and effortlessly navigates steep ramps with gradients of up to 10 percent.
In addition, the autonomous coupling and uncoupling of trailers, as well as autonomous wireless charging, ensure seamless, unmanned operation. The greatest measurable benefit for provita medical: the deployment of skilled personnel is optimized. The employee who previously drove the truck is now back in a value-adding role within their specialized department.
