The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) has published this year’s World Robotics Service Robots Report. We are pleased that Innok Robotics not only graces the cover of this groundbreaking publication but is also featured with a detailed use case of our autonomous transport robot, INDUROS.

In addition, Innok CEO Alwin Heerklotz authored the issue’s official editorial. Under the title “Form Follows Function—The Pragmatism of Physical AI,” he analyzes current technological developments in the industry. He emphasizes that today’s industry is primarily seeking robust and cost-effective solutions to specific real-world problems, particularly in challenging brownfield applications.

An overview of the editorial’s key messages:

  • Focus on Physical AI: Robots are leaving isolated factory floors and increasingly mastering the unstructured world characterized by mixed traffic and changing weather conditions.
  • A Solution to the Skilled Labor Shortage: Automation is no longer merely a tool for cost reduction; rather, it is an immediately effective and scalable response to staffing shortages in logistics.
  • Form Follows Function: Instead of forcing general-purpose humanoid robots into use cases where they are not the most efficient choice from a biomechanical or energy perspective, the industry is calling for tailor-made systems for its demanding, real-world processes.
  • Symbiosis of Systems: The future of automation is not an “either/or” scenario, but a highly interconnected ecosystem in which autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and humanoid robots work together intelligently.

The full report underscores that the technology is mature enough to generate sustainable value and relieve humans of heavy, monotonous work. A figure Innok is proud of: While the market for professional service robotics is projected to grow by a remarkable 24% by 2026, according to the report, Innok Robotics stands out with 100% growth—doubling its order intake.
