Trade magazine Roboter Spezial awards top marks: How the RAINOS watering robot is revolutionizing cemetery maintenance

The renowned trade magazine “Roboter Spezial” tested our autonomous watering robot, RAINOS, in real-world conditions and awarded it the highest possible rating.

The dry and increasingly hot summer months regularly push cemetery landscaping businesses to their absolute limits. During these periods, highly qualified professionals spend countless hours manually watering graves, while value-added gardening projects and new business opportunities simply fall by the wayside.

Our autonomous watering robot RAINOS—which many now affectionately call “Gießbert”—closes precisely this automation gap. The renowned trade magazine “Roboter Spezial,” which tests many robots—particularly in the “Handwerker Praxis” and “Profi Tools” sections—has now put our system through its paces in a comprehensive field test under the rigors of everyday work. The result: a top rating and clear proof of the economic leverage provided by autonomous pouring.

From Skeptic to Convinced Advocate

The test report, conducted at our customer Blumen Busch in Radevormwald, illustrates a paradigm shift that we frequently observe in the industry. When owner Christian Ortmans first encountered the system at a cemetery technology trade show, he initially asked himself, “Who needs something like this?”
The answer came from harsh reality shortly thereafter. During a severe drought, two vehicles and the associated staff were in constant use for two weeks—solely to water graves. During this time, a great deal of other, lucrative work was left undone. The entrepreneur’s logical conclusion upon visiting Innok at the IPM in Essen: “I need something like this!”

Measurable ROI Instead of Monotonous Routines

The practical use of the RAINOS—affectionately nicknamed “Gießbert” by the on-site team—provides exactly the relief that modern businesses and cemetery nurseries need today. The conclusion of the test report sums it up perfectly:

  • “The Rainos from Innok Robotics handles watering tasks at cemeteries efficiently, safely, quietly, and reliably.”
  • “It makes grave maintenance incredibly easier.”
  • “It has freed up valuable capacity among skilled workers, resulting in a significant increase in revenue.”

A significant increase in revenue through the use of autonomous robotics—that is the ultimate proof that the RAINOS is not merely a technical tool, but a fundamental building block for the future viability and competitiveness of cemetery nurseries. When staff are freed from the monotonous routine of watering, new maintenance contracts can be accepted and complex horticultural services can be performed to the highest standards.
