New Video from the Field: How the RAINOS Watering Robot Is Saving the Summer at Blumen Busch

Written by Innok Robotics | 11-04-2026

Our new article and our latest RAINOS video show: How the RAINOS watering robot is saving the summer at Blumen Busch and why now is the perfect time to start preparing for 2027

Especially during this hot summer, the autonomous RAINOS watering robots have impressively demonstrated just how much they support municipalities and cemetery gardeners in their demanding day-to-day work. When temperatures rise, watering quickly becomes a time-consuming and physically demanding task for the entire team. Our new video, featuring real-world use at Blumen Busch in Radevormwald, shows how this challenge can be solved in a sustainable and highly cost-effective way.

Before automation, the watering season demanded everything from the team led by Managing Director Christian Ortmans. During the summer, three employees were exclusively occupied with watering from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., as well as in the early evening. This resulted in enormous labor costs and prevented the team from carrying out all other important work at the business. Christian Ortmans also discusses this in the Innok Robotics Lunch & Learn webinar with Mr. RAINOS, Stefan Obser.

With the autonomous RAINOS casting robot—which the team has affectionately named “Giesbert”—this stress is now a thing of the past. The new video offers insights into RAINOS’s “day-to-day” operations at the cemetery in Radevormwald.

  • Payback in the first year: The robot paid for itself entirely in its very first year of operation and enabled the business to generate an additional 150,000 euros in revenue.
  • Relief for skilled workers: There’s no longer any need to get up extremely early, and the trained cemetery gardeners can once again focus fully on value-adding tasks such as grave maintenance and redesigns.
  • Eco-friendly and whisper-quiet: Nighttime watering drastically reduces evaporation, allowing plants to develop deeper roots, and residents in the adjacent neighborhood enjoy complete peace and quiet without loud pumps or diesel vehicles.

Recharge Now and Prepare for the 2027 Watering Season

After the intense summer, now is exactly the right time to take a deep breath, recharge, and set the course for the upcoming 2027 watering season. Those who decide now to switch to autonomous watering will secure a crucial head start: Our Innok team can set up and program your RAINOS on-site at your own pace as early as next spring. This way, you’ll start 2027 perfectly prepared and reap the full benefits of autonomous irrigation from the very first warm spring day.
